Dr. Michael Boehm has experience reviewing scientific manuscripts (articles and theses), posters and presentations. He is an active peer reviewer for scientific journals, such as Food Hydrocolloids. Dr. Boehm has presented at conferences in the USA and overseas. He is well published, and he has over 5-years experience in Industry, which includes writing "white papers" and, generally, presenting complex scientific ideas in a corporate setting.
Dr. Boehm is TEFL-certified and was fortunate enough to gain hands-on experience working with ESL students when he taught high school Science and Math in Shanghai, China. He has supervised Master's students, undergraduate interns and foreign exchange students.
Dr. Boehm's professional background comprises a B.S. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University, postdoctoral research positions at The University of Queensland (Australia) and the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (Japan), an Associate Principal Scientist position at PepsiCo. and a Senior Physical Scientist position at a food tech startup in Boston called Motif FoodWorks, Inc. Dr. Boehm also has extensive experience with volunteer and community outreach activities grounded in experiential learning.
